The traffic and weather today turned what should have been a 7 hour drive to 10 plus hours. The kids were so good until the last hour and they had enough. It poured rain once we were south of Atlanta to nearly Tifton then it was off an on with the rain and storms but the traffic was a nightmare every inch of the drive. When you stopped for gas or food or bathroom breaks there was a line everywhere. When we got to Orlando the traffic here was even worse if that is possible. We were grateful we only had a couple miles to exit and be here. We unloaded the car and went to the grocery store and Teresa fixed some nachos for dinner and I cleaned up while she took the kids to the pool to work off the pent up energy. It is heated so they were happy but Chris started complaining of an earache so we came back to the unit. Teresa is looking online for an Urgent Care that she can take him to in the morning. Spring Break has officially begun. The unit is very nice a comfortable and from what we can see of the property we are pretty centrally located to pools, game rooms, golf and clubhouse with kids activities. They have a full schedule of activities planned the entire week which is good because with the traffic we may not be leaving here much. Off to get a shower and head to bead.

Almost Time
The weather in Atlanta and really across the country has been beyond springtime weather. Eighty degrees in Chicago and Boston and record high temperatures broken all over the country including Atlanta for consecutive days over 80 degrees in March. Please admire my one tulip that sprouts every year by my mailbox and the dogwoods around my yard and neighborhood. Since Spring Break is supposed to be about Spring I thought we should start with "springy" pictures.
Since we will be heading to Orlando in three more days, I am hoping the good weather will hold so the kids can enjoy swimming. Right now they are focused on school as Lindsay has her 5th grade class trip to the Georgia Aquarium and then the Hard Rock for dinner on Thursday. She is very excited.
The twins are just looking forward to Friday when school is over for a week. Here is Paige and I could never get Chris to stand still long enough to get a photo but their mother and Aunt Susu did! Oh and I guess I should mention that Teresa and Keith are remodeling their kitchen...they usually do have doors on the cabinets!

I just realized that in three weeks we will be heading to Orlando to the Marriott Harbour Lake for spring break week. The picture above is of one of the pools in the complex. I am setting up the blog so that it will be ready for posting when we get ready to leave.
Since we have had such a mild winter, we are hoping the weather will be warm and the kids will be able to enjoy the pools but the Marriott resorts all have wonderful activities and amenities for the kids.
