Our Last Day

We all slept late this morning until almost 9 AM.  After fixing breakfast the kids went to the arcade, Teresa went to the gym and I started cleaning up around here to begin the packing process.  After lunch the kids went to the pool as they were doing kids activities around the pool area again.  Today they had them on three teams and they had to make rafts out of cardboard and duct tape and then race them in the pool.  It was very cute and they had a good time doing that.  Then they had a Reptile show and all the kids got to hold a small gator (mouth was taped to prevent accidents).  All of them sat in the front row and as he brought out the things he brought to show and talk with them about I think the girls were a bit nervous.  We started with a big Chilean Tarantula who was as he put it a baby,  then an African scorpion and after that you can pretty much see and tell what the others were.  The kids loved it.  We went to dinner at a little bar and grill by our favorite Publix and had oysters and numerous other items.  All was good and now I am uploading while Teresa took them to the pool disco party.  We will start packing when they get back.  It was a great week and I think everyone had a good time.  We are all gassed up and ready to hit the road so I hope we actually do beat the traffic going back.

Aquatica

The first day we actually plan to go somewhere and the skies look very angry this morning and it is spitting rain.  The weather forcast is predicting  40% chance thunderstorms across the area.  We decide we will go anyway and it rained on us until we parked the car in the lot (Aquatica is Sea World's water park and literally around the corner from where we are staying so we were there in two minutes) and never rained again the rest of the day.  Another beautiful day.  Christy got there with Camille a couple hours after we did and other than one crisis and panic for 20 minutes when we lost Madeline in Roa's Rapids (she got seperated from us and then got out at the wrong entrance/exit) it was a very fun day.  Christy and Teresa were even able to sneak off while I watched the kids and did the biggest slide together.  We were all exhausted last night though and ordered pizza and stayed in.  We have had trouble with the wireless the last two days.  It will say it's connected but won't let you login so I am trying to catch up this morning.  We are planning on stayinbg around here today and currently the kids are at the arcade.  Tonight we will be packing up to head home early (hopefully before dawn) to get a jump on the traffic.

A Visit From Friends..

A friend of Teresa's , Christy has two daughters one of whom is friends with Paige came to spend the day at the pool with us.  Christy's parents live just a short distance from Orlando and we went to visit them the last time we were here.  The Polsinelli family arrived and everyone played in the pool and played golf and had lots of fun together.  Not a lot to describe this day except the we decided tomorrow we would all go to Aquatica together Thursday.  Madeline spent the night with us and Christy took Camille and went back to her parents home and we will meet in the morning,  Camille was distraught since she wanted to stay too but Christy didn't want to drive back in the middle of the night to get her...she is 5 and still afraid of being without mom.

Surf's Up

Another beautiful day in Orlando so we pack lunches and head to Cocoa Beach.  No traffic driving this direction today.  We found this cute little old Florida town when we cruised from Port Canaveral two years ago.  There is a huge Ron Jon store here that the kids love so we went there first.  This store has lots of beachy home decor besides the clothes so I enjoy looking around there too.  The kids got their spring break shirts and obviously a few other things they could talk me into.  There was a high school marching band playing outside the store in their shorts...amusing.  It was the perfect beach day.  Teresa and I were in awe of the sheer number of umbrellas on the beach since there was no traffic  anywhere we went so how did they all get here? This looked like the movie Summer Rental..Hi I'm Joe Public..Welcome to my Beach!  Not many condos here and especially high rise types so it is a mystery.

Everyone had a good day and we did great traffic wise until we were almost back and there was a chain reaction crash right at our exit which meant we sat for awhile,  We ate at home and Teresa took the kids to the pool and to play miniature golf.  I cleaned up and tried to do the blog but couldn't get the Internet to come up so I did upload the photos to the computer but couldn't post.

Today we will stay here but friends are coming to spend the afternoon at the pool with us..more later.

Hot, Hot, Hot

Chris got up this morning with the earache again so Teresa took him to the Urgent Care and I took the girls to the game room and then ping pong.  Chris and Teresa were back before we finished with ping pong which was amazing.  He got an oral antibiotic for both inner and middle ear infection.  He needs to stay out of the pool today so we went to Downtown Disney and the Lego store where Chris made some purchases with his saved funds.  The drama was after that when we were deciding on where to have lunch.  Lindsay of course has a peanut allergy so we need to be careful of where we eat and we chose the Rain Forest cafe as we had been there before.  The chef came and told us what she could have and she ordered and refused to eat it and instead proceeded to have a melt down.  Teresa promptly left with Lindsay in tow and I waited for the twins to finish and met them outside where Lindsay was still crying. We have been through this with her over and over.  We ask the types of oil used to cook and the chef if there is anything she can't have and then she is afraid to eat it and I know she is afraid of eating anything that may cause an attack but she is over the top at times and today was one of those days.   Needless to say we didn't spend anymore time there and came back to the villa.  It was now mid afternoon anyway and since Lindsay and Lil P got into it in the car they were sent to different rooms and made to stay there for 30 minutes.  Chris started his Lego building and Teresa got ready to go to the pool.

We spent the afternoon here and cooked here and then went to play miniature golf and games with the kids.  It was 92 today and supposed to be the same tomorrow.  Our plan is to drive to Cocoa Beach tomorrow so let's hope for no more melt downs.
